Galatians 6:9

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Jeff gave a devotion on this passage in this morning’s staff meeting. It was much needed. I think it is hard sometimes to explain to people what goes on in the lives’ of people leading at a church. You dream big dreams. You don’t sleep a whole lot. You want to reach the entire world and keep everyone already reached content. And you also want to be a good husband, friend, etc. And you want to mainly seek the approval of God Himself and not be so concerned with everyone else.

Yeah right! It’s not that easy. In fact it is so difficult. Even if ministers have the purest intentions and hardest work ethic and greatest faith, the enemy will try to trip us up by providing obstacles along the way. And that is why that verse was so helpful this morning. What is scary is that the verse is intentionally conditional. You will reap IF you don’t grow weary.

Dear Jesus, at North Side we want to reap an incredible harvest – don’t let us grow weary. Renew us, God. All this is for You.
