Week 35

honeydew melonHow your baby’s growing:

Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that he’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, he isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Feedback: We are only five (or possibly 4) weeks away from his due date! It’s starting to sink in now. Amanda had a family diaper shower yesterday. People say you can’t have enough of those and that is a good thing, because we got a bunch! That lil’ boy is already spoiled rotten!

He’s going to have to get a job pretty soon out of the womb to ensure he doesn’t become a brat, because he’s already got a ton of stuff.

The other day, he stuck out a knee, a foot, or an elbow so high out of Amanda’s belly, that I could have grabbed it and held onto it not letting him move. Amanda wouldn’t let me though. I guess if he would have come out looking deformed she would be able to blame it on me!  Only 34 days to the due date!

Thanks for your constant excitement about his arrival! Please pray that Amanda and I will be godly parents who will begin showing lil’ Obie what it means to live a lifestyle of worship from day one.
