Speaking Through Circumstances

I love getting together as a church on Sundays. Today was another great day! In our series, Experiencing God, we arrived today at the message, “Speaking Through Circumstances.”

This is such a needed message. Overwhelmed with the circumstances in our lives, it is normally hard to decipher what God is trying to say. When you see a commercial on TV about hungry children, is God telling you to sponsor one? If you keep seeing the word China everywhere, is God telling you to be a missionary there or is it simply that the Olympics are on?  How can you determine when God is trying to get your attention.

When Jeff wanted to brainstorm on this message, he asked me how I would preach it.  I told him I probably wouldn’t!  That topic is so difficult with so many different possibilities of how someone could question it.

That’s why I am glad that Blackaby gave these questions to ask when you are trying to determine God’s will through circumstances:

The wrong question to ask: “God, what’s your will for my life?”

The right question is: “God, what’s your will? And if you show me that will, I will adjust my life to you.”

It was a great day, God moved in so many mighty ways (and I am hearing amazing things about Epic today)!  The place was full for all the services today (school is back is in).  It was great to have everyone together.  Hope to see you next week!

Today, we worshiped to the following songs:

  • Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman
  • Let God Arise – Chris Tomlin
  • Jesus Messiah – Chris Tomlin
  • Made Me Glad – Hillsong
