Prayer Service

I know you get tired of me saying this, but I am sorry: wow, what a Sunday.

I must say it again, because it just seems like week after week, our congregation is getting together to show Jesus how much we love him and it is overwhelming just to be in the room with it all.  Jeff warned that yesterday was going to be different, and it was very different, but I think it was a taste of what Jesus said that his father’s house was “to be a house of prayer” (Matt. 21:13).

The entire service was a prayer and praise service.  We went through the Lord’s Prayer and spent time interceding for a whole bunch of stuff.  Yesterday, our congregation prayed for:

  • Close to every church in this city
  • Every church member by name
  • Unreached people groups
  • Missionaries on the field
  • People who are currently under temptation in a bad way
  • The ministries of this church
  • And so much more

Since the music never stopped (my fingers hurt big time – its been a long time since I played acoustic for that long) and the prayers never stopped, it was a service of just communion with Christ.  It was wonderful.  Some of the music that we sang corporately:

  • Holy is the Lord – Chris Tomlin
  • He is Exalted – Shane and Shane
  • Enough – Chris Tomlin
  • When I Survey – alternate melody
  • Jesus Messiah – Chris Tomlin
  • Make Me Holy – Travis Agnew
  • The Lord’s Prayer – Albert Malotte

Here’s some pics from yesterday (you can click on the pictures for a bigger shot of it):
