The Muslim Salvation

n608121245_2050241_4714969Today was week 2 in the Crossroads series.  The message today centered on “The Muslim Salvation.”

In my message, I spent half of the time giving the history of the prophet Muhammad and the foundation of Islam.  For the second part of the message, I explained five key differences between Islam and Christianity.

We had a recording glitch yesterday, so the sermon is not online yet.  I am going to rerecord it today so that we can get it on the website.

The praise band did a fantastic job again today.  They led with these songs:

  • My Savior Lives – New Life Worship
  • Sing to the King – Billy Foote
  • I Stand in Awe – Mark Altrogge
  • I Stand Amazed (My Savior’s Love) – Chris Tomlin
  • How He Loves – John Mark McMillan

While I have vowed never to preach on Spring Forward Sunday ever again due to everyone’s sleepy state walking into church, I am thankful for the opportunity to speak on such a delicate subject.

I heard from many people yesterday that they learned a ton.  I stated in the beginning of the message that most Americans knew just enough about Islam since 9/11 to make them dangerous.  Hopefully, you learned some more, but that you also walked away knowing more about Christianity.

This morning I woke up and praised Jesus that the scale is gone, and I never have to worry about whether or not my good will outweigh my bad – the cross tips the scale every time!

See you next week for the conclusion (I hope the way we lift Jesus high blows you away)!

  1. Travis,

I attended the 1st message in the Crossroads series as a first time visitor with my sister Susan Jones, also your neighbor.

I’ve been following the series audio via the website and I would LOVE to have the visual as well. Is there a way you can make that available to me?

I want to share it with my teenage boys, 17 & 15 and they are very visual learners!

    Thanks so much,
    Mickey Jennings

  2. Hi Travis,
I would like your Crossroads Chart. I had drawn it out in my Compass but can't find the Compass now. It started with Abraham – kind of like a family chart. Do you still have it? Could you email it to me? gmwv1999@yahoo.com
    Thanks so much!
