Parents Baptizing Children

Sunday night was a pretty big night for me.  It was the culmination of my 15-week project that I implemented at North Side that corresponded with my seminary research.

If you want to know what has happened in the last fifteen weeks corresponding with my project:

  • Crossroads Series
  • GRACE Series
  • Legacy Series
  • Focus Group
  • Church Survey
  • Making Faith Stick (2 sections, 4 classes each)
  • Home Invasion videos
  • Baptism Party
  • And a whole lot more…

Needless to say, I slept good on Sunday night.  My favorite part of the evening was watching something I have been praying for for over a year: a father baptizing his son.  When Jason Allen baptized his son, Evans, it was a beautiful picture.  You don’t have to be ordained to baptize someone (in fact, ordination isn’t even in the Bible).  Evans’ dad led him to Christ (another wonderful concept), so why wouldn’t one of the most important people in his life be the one who had the honor of baptizing him?  It was a great day – and hopefully, this type of legacy building won’t be an isolated incident.  Enjoy the pictures:

  1. I wish more people could experience that. I pray that we do a good enough job so that our son gets to go through this with us.
