Hurry Home

Pastor Andy Stanley wrote a book entitled Choosing to Cheat which describes the tension between the demands of a family and the demands of a vocation. His premise is that you will have to choose to cheat in one area – either your family or your work will get the best you have to offer. Which one will you choose?

Isn’t it interesting that the first man, Adam, had a relationship with God and a promising career of naming all the animals of the world, yet God still saw him as incomplete and lonely. Work can’t fulfill you.

What if you tried to hurry home this week? What if rather than simply being ready to get off work at 5:00, you became ready to go home (there’s a huge difference)? What could you bring home with you this week – tangible or intangible – that shows your family their priority in your life?
