Overcoming Addiction

web

The Elephant in the Pew kicked off today at six different locations.  What an amazing thought to think that preachers and churches all over the state were united in the topic today and battling the first elephant – the issue of overcoming addiction.

Michael Osborne, chaplain of the Faith Home and our Celebrate Recovery director, gave a powerful message today on the topic.  His story of how God saved him from his addict state, and is now using him in a powerful way to impact hundreds of people in this community.  For anyone with a hurt, habit, or hangup (or you are close with someone who does), the next step for you is to go to Celebrate Recovery on Friday night.  They meet in the FLC.  For more info, go here.

So excited that the Peak band led us in worship.  The group, mainly made up of high school students, did a fantastic job at leading us to the throne.  Today, the Peak band led us in worship with:

  • Happy Day – Tim Hughes
  • Glorious One – Steve Fee
  • Jesus Paid It All – Kristain Stanfill
  • Center – Charlie Hall

Three more elephants to go – see you next week!
