North Side is growing. Praise the Lord. While we are excited about numerical growth, we also are burdened to always grow closer as we grow larger. As we continually get busier and busier, how in the world can we truly connect people to each other in the church?
As we prayed, we believed that God led us to an answer.
The City…It’s a new communication tool at North Side Baptist Church. The City has been implemented to allow the members of North Side to connect with each other. This tool provides a unique way for members to keep up to date with each other…as well as events, happenings, prayer requests and needs of the North Side family.
It really focuses on 3 key things:
- Education – Have you ever missed an event or unsure about a program at the church? This tool allows us to educate you on what is going on in real time. You don’t have to wait for something to be mailed to you or for the next Sunday, you can get it in your inbox or log on from any computer or mobile phone.
- Communication – The problem with church communication is that is normally 1-sided. Someone gives an announcement, and the listener has followup questions but it’s not the environment to ask. The City changes that. When you see an announcement, prayer request, event, etc., you can engage in 2-way communication. Ask the person in charge if nursery is provided. See if someone can cover your volunteer spot next Sunday. It gets your voice heard and your questions answered promptly.
- Assimilation – Don’t let that word scare you. Have you ever heard of so many programs and groups and events and don’t know where to start? The City will allow you to get help from a person that is equipped to help walk you through getting connected at North Side.
