Lift Recap

Words can’t even express how humbled I was to be a part of Lift.

Having North Side’s own volunteers give up their Saturday to work on things they already do so well is a reminder of the quality of people we have.  Having groups from the Carolinas travel from up to 5 hours away to spend their Saturday to learn with us is a reminder of stewardship in the Body of Christ.

At Lift, we worshiped to:

The rest of the activities and breakouts are listed here.

In addition to leading worship, here was my crazy teaching schedule: 5 Things That Will Kill Your Worship Team (9:00), Playing as a Worship Band (10:00), Host Team Training (11:00), God’s Favorite Worship Style (12:00), Q&A (1:30), Creative Worship Planning (2:30).  And I loved every minute of it!

While I loved teaching those sessions, I desperately wanted to go to all the other sessions, but I heard how incredible all of the breakouts were.  Getting to lead worship with our crew each week is a powerful experience, but training and encouraging other leaders alongside this team is just simply incredible.  The level of what each of these guys and gals brought seems like each of them are a full time employee!

Out of all the sessions and all the things we did, my favorite might have been the Q&A time with the large group and a whiteboard.  We got real honest about what worship is and isn’t.  I opened up how my heart is changing and what we are going through as a church.  I pray it was as beneficial to them as it was to me!

We are going to put some more free resources online this week, so stay tuned!

Also, for those around Greenwood this summer, I wanted to remind you of an ad we had running this weekend.  I am going to facilitate an 8-week Worship Academy this summer.  Details coming soon!  It’s going to be an intense training time and hopefully where we will stretch each other.
