Have You Read Every Word in the Bible?

Decisions become very simple when you put them through the lens of Scripture. God’s Word is more than adequate to provide direction and focus for every aspect of your life (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Read Hebrews 4:12 and look to see how powerful God’s Word is:

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

God’s Word is alive and well and is speaking to you every time you open it. The Bible tells us about God. It tells us how we should live in light of God. As you read it’s words, it is as if God is cutting through all the mess and pinpoint our very motives which reside in the deepest places of our heart.

I remember being asked in college if I believed every word in the Bible.  I said I did, and then I was asked another question that convicted me greatly:

“Do you believe every word in the Bible?”

“Of course, I do.”

“Have you read every word in the Bible?”

And up to that point, I was ashamed to say I had not.  That changed after that moment.

Do you believe every word in the Bible? Have you read every word in the Bible?

I have challenged my group to commit to a pretty daunting reading plan.  I have combined a few different plans to come up with a 90-Day Chronological Bible Reading Plan.

Many people know isolated stories of the Bible without seeing the big story.

In order to see the big picture of the Bible, we are going to read the Bible in 90 days chronologically.  That means that we will be reading Jeremiah’s sermons when he was preaching them at the time described in 2 Chronicles.

It’s a daunting task.  It is supposed to take the average reader 45 minutes a day.  Sometimes 12-15 chapters a day.  Could even be more on a few days.  If you get behind, you are really, really behind.  But we are desiring to know His Word better and so I wanted to invite anyone up to this challenge to join us.

We will start on Easter, Sunday, April 8th and finish on July 6th reading through the entire Bible chronologically.

It’s gonna be difficult, I don’t want to fall behind, so I would love to have some of you desiring to do this to join me.  I am attaching the file here: 90 Days Chronological.  If you are interested in doing it, please tell me how I can help encourage you.  Prepare your heart for the word of truth.

Sanctify us in Your truth, Your word is truth.”  -John 17:17
