Hurrying After Wealth

Making money is not an evil thing and can be a thing that God uses to meets the needs of others. But an overly-ambitious heart can lead to greed and the downfall of a man’s wealth and integrity.

Take a moment and read Proverbs 28:21-22:

21It is not good to show partiality
yet a man may sin for a piece of bread.
22A greedy man is in a hurry for wealth;
he doesn’t know that poverty will come to him.

In this passage, he mentions that someone may “sin for a piece of bread” (Prov. 28:21). What are ways that men sin in order to get what they want or what they need?

He also mentions that a “greedy man is in a hurry for wealth; he doesn’t know that poverty will come to him” (Prov. 28:22). How do greedy men pursue wealth in a hurried fashion?

Don’t shortcut your way to financial prosperity that your lose your integrity along the way. Don’t hurry after wealth in a desperate attempt to get more. Work hard, stay faithful, and trust that God will give you every dollar that you need and every dollar after that for which he trusts you.
