The Glory of the Lord

Such a wonderful time with our church family today!

We began our time singing “Brethren We Have Met to Worship” and “Our God Is With Us.”  Loved hearing our church sing out that new one in recent weeks.

After a great video reminding us of all we have to be thankful for, I shared a little bit from Revelation 21, had a time of prayer, and we took the offering.

We then sang “Just to Be Close to You” and “Knowing You” before the message.

The message was a great conclusion to the Exodus series.  I have learned so much and grown so much through this series that we started this summer.  God’s presence in Exodus 40 in the cloud by day and the fire by night serves as such a great reminder for us.

We had to change some things up before worship today on the fly, so I didn’t know what songs we would do during the invitation today.  As Jeff was concluding the message, I felt I had a good direction.  And no, I am not ashamed to bring back “Sanctuary” and “Better Is One Day.”  You can’t beat biblical, singable songs!  I don’t care what era they were written!

Next week, we start a series entitled “Good News” as we enter the Christmas season.  Can’t wait!

  1. Sanctuary has such a special meaning to me. I sang this song to our middle child, Emma, as she joined Heaven. I remember singing it a church at Northside. I always knew the waning but I never understood it until that moment. For some reason I started singing it. Our Emma is a Sanctuary that is pure and holy for our Lord.
