David, Goliath, and the Gospel

If you’ve been around North Side lately, you know that we are switching curriculum to The Gospel Project.

I am really excited about this for 3 primary reasons:

  1. Unites Families – This curriculum will position our church to have every age, every group going through the same discipleship curriculum together.  That means you don’t have to dig to find out what your 4-year-old, your 10-year-old, your 16-year old, and your spouse learned in their groups to have a family discipleship moment.  If you are in a group, you know what every single one of them learned.  It makes a great step forward in family discipleship.  You get to have Deuteronomy 6:4-9 moments all throughout the week!  This is a game changer for our church and your family!  NOTE: In this first quarter, the children will be on the message of the gospel, while the students and adults will be on sharing the gospel.  It is working towards a restructuring in September which will be a 3-year plan to go through the entire Bible chronologically.
  2. Theologically Robust – It is a thorough study of the Scriptures.  It is full of great truth and will equip our people to handle the word of truth more accurately (2 Tim. 2:15).
  3. Mission Focus – The Gospel Project is not just a deep study in the Word, it has a mission thrust to it.  Since we know these truths, let’s communicate these truths with others!  The gospel is not meant to be hoarded but heralded.

Just a few reasons why I am excited The Gospel Project starts at our church on March 1.  If you are not in a group, you need to sign up for one to get your family ready to go when it launches in a few short days!

You can also check out Matt Chandler explain in the video below why the direction of The Gospel Project is so critical to our understanding of the Bible.  Trust me, it is worth 3-minutes of your time.
