Do More Better

I’m not gonna lie – I bought this book for myself and put it in my Christmas stocking.

I was making some purchases for others folks at Christmastime, and I saw this book linked and it got me hooked.  I try to make it a practice to evaluate life and ministry at the end of every year and this book description really seemed to hit me where I was at the time.  Tim Challies is a pastor and blogger.  I have benefited from what I have read from him, but something about this book got me seriously intrigued.

Do More Better

His thesis for the book is:

Productivity is effectively stewarding your gifts, talents, time, energy, and enthusiasm for the good of others and the glory of God.

For anyone who is wanting to get a greater control on his or her life, I wholeheartedly recommend this small book to you.  While you could read it in one sitting, you simply cannot because it was constantly causing me to begin to implement changes.  I would read a chapter and Challies would call for an action.

There were simply too many good ideas to say I would get to after I finished the entire book.  I had to stop every few paragraphs to straighten some things up and clean some things out.

He said that if the principles are followed, this book can change your life.  I have to admit: I like how it is changing mine.

I am still reorganizing many things due to his great insights, suggestions, and questions.

While he starts with the big picture about all of life bringing glory to God, he eventually moves to the very practical in showing how he has learned to be more productive.  His insights on calendars, t0-do lists, mission statements, information collection, and productivity tips are so incredibly beneficial!
