Planned Parenthood and the Backward Ethics of America

In a strange turn of events today, a grand jury indicted two people who pretended to want to purchase aborted fetal body parts rather than the organization that was selling them.  Months ago, a group’s sting operation provided footage that showed Planned Parenthood employees admitting to illegal activity concerning partial birth abortion procedures and the potential profits.

So, fetuses that are too useless to be viewed as humans in our culture have organs that give life and are useful for profit? God, help us.

Due to the uproar from the videos, an investigation began concerning the activity of Planned Parenthood.  CNN reports:

A Texas investigation into Planned Parenthood on Monday culminated in an indictment — of the organization’s accusers instead of the group.

The Harris County District Attorney’s office announced that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast had been cleared in the two-month-long investigation.

But the grand jury did indict two individuals who were involved in making secret recordings of the group that were released to publicly discredit the group, which provides health services and abortions.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were indicted for tampering with a governmental record, a second-degree felony, and Daleiden was also indicted on the count of prohibition of the purchase and sale of human organs, a class A misdemeanor, according to the Harris County district attorney.

According to the Harris County District Clerk’s website, a warrant for Daleiden had been issued Monday evening. Daleiden’s Twitter profile identifies his residence as Irvine, California, where his group, the Center for Medical Progress, is located. The indictments were not yet available.

We just indicted people for the crime of hidden cameras and let those who murdered 327,653 babies in 2014 walk away unchecked.

Planned Parenthood is thrilled with the indictment.  Why?  Because this group has “engaged in wrongdoing.”

“As the dust settles and the truth comes out, it’s become totally clear that the only people who engaged in wrongdoing are the criminals behind this fraud, and we’re glad they’re being held accountable,” said Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, in a statement.

Hidden cameras are classified as wrongdoing.  Murder via abortion is classified as convenience.  Is this real?  Someone please tell me I am dreaming.  We have such a backward view of ethics!

It is unethical to use hidden cameras to expose the truth but seen as ethical to murder defenseless little humans.

God, have mercy.

If we can hear the words straight from the mouths of Planned Parenthood employees and yet still our tax dollars fund this organization and those who desire to expose it have criminal charges against them, where is the reason?  Have we lost all sense of rationale?

I am not one who believes that the government can fix what is broken in America.  Far from it.  My hope is that the Church would rise up in this land and once again proclaim the blessing that children truly are (Ps. 127:3).  I pray we would share hope and truth with those in the crisis of a decision.  And that we would never give up speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves (Prov. 31:8).
