Strengthening Your Marriage by Wayne A. Mack

For better or for worse? Whichever term describes your marriage, there are ways to make it (even) better. That’s because God has designed marriage to be a relationship of deep unity and strength. Despite the challenges that couples face today, marital harmony need not be considered an impossible ideal.

Wayne A. Mack recognizes the challenges before us, and shows us how to meet those challenges with growing success. In this book, he has gathered a wealth of biblical insight and practical information on marital roles, communication, finances, sex, child rearing, and family worship. Both as a counseling aid and as a guide for husbands and wives to study together, this book offers true hope and help where couples need it most.

Favorite Quotes:

  1. Genuine unity requires a sorting out of responsibilities (31).
  2. No two people can effectively walk together, work together, or live together without a good communications system (55).
  3. And, strange as it may seem, it is nonetheless true that children can be a magnetic force drawing married people together or a wedge which drives them apart (139).

Tip of the Week

Create email signatures for your most often responses.

There are many email responses that I have that are basically the same, and I save time by writing a sample response and adding it as a signature in my email.  If I need to respond to it, I simply select the most appropriate signature.  The best case is how I schedule appointments for someone who is trying to get together.  You can also make them for other common requests of you.  It’s informative for them and a timesaver for you!
