Weekly Wisdom [09.07.18]

Need some Weekly Wisdom?  Here are my favorite resources of the week.

VERSE OF THE WEEK

Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand [Job 26:14]?

BOOK OF THE WEEK

The Money Challenge by Art Rainer

You were meant for more. Your money was meant for more. You and your money are meant for an exciting, adventurous, and satisfying purpose. God designed you, not to be a hoarder, but a conduit through which His generosity flows.

In The Money Challenge, Art Rainer takes you on a journey to financial health. But it is not simply for the sake of financial health. The Money Challenge was written to help experience God’s design for you and your finances.

Favorite Quotes

  1. God’s formula for money is simple: Give generously, save wisely, and live appropriately (8).
  2. You and your money are designed for something much bigger than wealth accumulation (14).
  3. We have a God who gave His first and best and gave proportionally, sacrificially, and cheerfully (32).

PODCAST OF THE WEEK

Should Kids Get a Summer Break on the Briefing by Albert Mohler

Should we eliminate summer break? Why such an effort will struggle to gain any political traction.  Such a great listen regarding the nature of school and the home!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

God dwells in His creation and is everywhere indivisibly present in all His works. He is transcendent above all His works even while He is immanent within them.  -A.W. Tozer

SONG OF THE WEEK

Such a special hymn and such a great arrangement.  Thankful for this version of Audrey Assad with Fernando Ortega singing “Oh the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus.”

POST OF THE WEEK

Ben Sasse’s 15-minute civics lesson is the best part of the Kavanaugh hearing so far

Not only did Sasse take time to explain how the branches should operate, but he further clarified why hearings like this one had become a circus of protests, TV cameras, and hate speech.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Power Point for the Graphically Challenged

Is your job or ministry in need of a graphic designer but the budget and talent is simply not there?  One way you can start doing some graphics without having to buy an expensive app is by designing something in Power Point or Keynote and exporting them as jpg files.  May not be the best design options, but you might be shocked at how it could increase what you are doing.
