You Were Made for Something Special

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Eph. 2:10).

Not only were you created by someone, but you were created for something. To understand your purpose, you must pursue the one who created you in the first place. God designed you distinct, and that is why your discipleship must be distinct as well.

In Ephesians 2:8-10, we read regarding the nature between our salvation and our designation.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

  • How many good works did God require you to prove before he saved you? Absolutely none!
  • What type of good works should we produce now that God has saved us? As many as possible!

We were not saved by good works, but we were saved for good works.

God actually prepared opportunities for these efforts to be utilized. Since each creation is unique, that implies that each opportunity is distinct. God has designed you to produce good works that not every other believer is expected to provide.

For what type of good works do you believe God has designed you?
