The Pilgrim: Abraham

We started a new series called “Ancestors” today focusing on the second half of Genesis and looking at our spiritual heritage to learn from the mistakes and failures of those gone before us.

From the very beginning, our spiritual family was rooted in faith in God.  Before the Law was introduced, Abraham proved to be a prototype for us to live by faith.  While his life was full of mistakes, he shows us that faith, not works, is God’s requirement.

It was a little weird leading worship today.  If you’ve been regular to North Side, you knew most of the songs.  If this was your first time, good chance you didn’t know any of them because they are all off of our new worship project, “Overcome.”  That’s why I was so shocked and happy to hear you singing out so much.

We also did add “Friend of God” at the end of the service today.  When Jeff asks me at 8:15 this morning, “So, just how good is our band?” you know we have to represent.  So thankful that I have such a talented crew to jump in there and get after it without any prep time – you guys and gals are the best!

Today, we worshiped to:
