Travis Agnew is a disciple of Jesus, husband, father, pastor, author, and speaker. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Amanda, and they have three children, Obadiah, Eli, and Gloria. Since 2017, he has served as the Lead Pastor of Rocky Creek Church in Greenville, South Carolina, where he preaches, leads the staff, and helps guide the church’s disciple-making vision.
Travis graduated from North Greenville University with a B.A. in Christian Studies and a minor in Music. He earned his M.Div. and D.Min. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where his doctoral work focused on family discipleship.
He is the author of numerous books on biblical interpretation, discipleship, family, and ministry, including Biblephobia, Distinctive Discipleship, Wiki God, What God Has Joined Together, Don’t Drop Your Kids Off at Church, and Freshman 15. He has also developed resources for LifeWay in partnership with the Kendrick Brothers.
Before coming to Rocky Creek, Travis served at North Side Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina. He has also taught at Lander and North Greenville Universities and served on North Greenville’s Board of Trustees.
Whether preaching, writing, or developing resources, Travis seeks to help people follow Jesus faithfully and make progress in what matters most. His study of Scripture continually fuels his desire to share what he is learning through sermons, books, podcasts, articles, and other discipleship resources. He also speaks at churches, conferences, camps, and other ministry events as opportunities allow.
Outside of ministry, Travis enjoys spending time with his family, training, reading, grilling, and making music.
