Got some good stuff in class today from the Evangelism Director for the Illinois Baptist Convention, Randy Mullinax. He said that one of the things that he has noticed over his time in ministry is that ministers who are transforming lives are having lives that are being transformed themselves.
I will repeat: Ministers who are transforming lives are having lives that are being transformed themselves.
“Pastors that have that don’t need another program…they are just bringing people to Jesus…you have to have passion, vision, and work ethic…I was bought with a price…when I decided to follow Jesus in ministry, I decided I was going to work…I mean I’m going to work…some ministers think all they have to do is to preach a clever message and everything will work out…the guys I know getting it done are guys who go live at a monastery for a week to get alone with God and let Him transform them before trying to be used.”
God, transform me. I want to be used.
