This was our second week in The Wow Factor and today’s service was all about “The Faith Factor.” John Thompson, a member at North Side, shared his story. It is a story of ups and downs, great moments, not-so-great moments, but they were all moments that pointed him closer to God. He shared an incredible story of a man who walked by faith to get him to where he needed to be.
It reminded me why we do what we do – we’re in the business of transforming lives. In the midst of doing so many other things in church life, you can get caught up in staying busy with a lot of good things, but not the thing we’re here for – to be instruments of God to transform lives.
I loved hearing our family sing praise today. I thought during Amazing Grace, I wasn’t going to be able to sing anymore because of the immense emotion and heart in the room. Our chains are gone and we have been set free!
For those of you that wonder what songs we sing and who is the artist, I’m going to post them each week. Also, for those of you who are iTunes junkies, the link on the song will send you to the file.
The worship songs we played today were:
- Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman
- Your Grace is Enough – Chris Tomlin
- Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) – Chris Tomlin
- Captivate Us – Watermark
- We Love You Jesus – Shane and Shane
The Shane and Shane song just came out this week on a CD called “Pages.” So good. Check it out if you get a chance. Maybe if we move into the new building sometime soon, you can get it in the bookstore. Whenever that might be…(it’s getting closer…)
See you next week.

Thanks for the link to the songs….I am def. a junkie and am always searching for the songs we sing on Sundays. Esp. when I wake up singing one and then later can’t remember the words! (Of course, I’m blaming that on pregnancy brain. :))
