I have been a little late on my post from Sunday due to computer issues and the fact that I have been hauled upstairs writing straight for the last 48 hours. Sorry it’s late, but here goes:
We worshiped (in a rather rowdy manner, I might add) to:
- Marvelous Light – Charlie Hall
- God of Wonders – City on a Hill
- Knowing You – Passion Band
- Be Thou My Vision – traditional
- You are a Holy God – Vineyard UK
- Everlasting God – Chris Tomlin
- Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman
Jeff’s message was awesome. If you didn’t get to hear it, go here.
One of his concluding comments was concerning a conversation we had prepping for his message. He asked me what would happen if we took an entire year and didn’t preach on marriage, parenting, finances, etc and just preached on Jesus? Each week, we would just focus on his personhood and his attributes.
I told him that within six months, we would lose some people who would be disinterested in the content and needing a fix in other areas of life.
The other group of people would not want to go back to anything else once they had heard that much about Jesus. Everything else would just get pretty dim.
So the question is: which one would you be? Self-evaluation time: go.
