Yesterday, we had our staff Christmas party at North Side. We ate too much, but it was great just to have some unrushed hang time. We played the “Dirty Santa” game, but people could only bring gifts that cost no money.
We either had to find it, have it, or make it.
Sitting on the Epic porch decorated with such holiday glee, we had a fantastic time. Polly gave the best gift of a blackmailable photo of Rick Hendricks. Such creativity.
Other gifts included some stuff that we gave each other last year, a one of a kind piece of art, some Christmas decorations, and much more.
I got Gay’s wonderful Christmas piece of art that is sitting in my office window.
Yuletide bliss has now bitten me.
As Jeff talked to us as a staff, we were all reminded of how memorable of a year 2008 proved to be. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” I have never been a part of a year that had so many difficult moments but also had the greatest triumphs our church has ever seen. Through it all, we still believe that Jesus is still on his throne, and it is amazing what he is able to do even when the times are anything less than ideal.
Theme verse for 2008: “Let us not lose heart in doing good for in due time, we will reap if we do not grow weary.” – Galatians 6:9
Thank you, Jesus, for the incredible reaping we saw at North Side this year! And thank you for this incredible staff I get to work with!
