When was the last time you checked to see how spiritually healthy you are? During checkup, we are performing a spiritual inventory. This week, we want to help you work on your personal impact upon the world. Do you have a contagious lifestyle? You can’t experience an impact on the world without getting close to the people around you, because we’ll never reach the world by keeping them at arm’s length.
Scott Dublin delivered the message today. Through God’s Word and Scott’s passion for the world, the message was incredibly impacting. His emphasis on reaching out to the broken around us everyday made me think of many people in my own life in which I am not so intentional. In a prayer service, I think about how I need to reach out. When I’m around them, I think about it, but sometimes cowardice takes over. I was glad to be reminded that I don’t go alone (Matt 28:18-20)! Check out this message.
Today, we worshiped to:
- Awesome is the Lord – Chris Tomlin
- However Whenever Wherever – Travis Agnew
- God of This City – Bluetree/Chris Tomlin
Behind the Scenes
If you regularly come to North Side, you may not have noticed anything major about the service. If you are me, you loved today more than any other day. Today was organized, delegated, and simplified.
On Monday morning, Jeff, Hannah, Griffith, and I sat down and went over every element of the service from offering, announcements, graphics, lights, etc. Everything. I mean everything. Then we all took our responsibilities and knocked it out. I was less stressed out this week and this morning than I have in a long time. Everybody knocked out their parts today – it was amazing. Even if you didn’t notice it, it was different – trust me! I wasn’t remembering things at 7:30AM that someone needed to do. Thanks guys!
New series next week – “It’s the End of the World As We Know It.” Can’t wait. Hope to see you there!
Travis Agnew serves as the Lead Pastor of Rocky Creek Church in Greenville, SC. His most recent book is Just (About) Married.
