Spirit Alignment

July 13, 2025

Galatians 5:24-26 – When the Spirit fills your life, others will begin to notice. Spirit alignment requires a surrendered identity, crucified desires, steady obedience, and humble relationships.

1. You Must Belong to Christ Jesus (v. 24a)

  • You’ll never walk like you were meant to until you belong to the One who made you.
  • You won’t find life until you surrender the right to run it.
  • Consider: If I’m still fighting against Jesus, have I really surrendered to Him?

2. You Must Crucify the Flesh (v. 24b)

  • Your spiritual survival depends on the execution of threats, not negotiation with them.
  • Jesus didn’t die to give you a free pass to the very things that nailed Him to the cross.
  • Consider: What sinful desire am I excusing instead of executing?

3. You Must Stay in Step with the Spirit (v. 25)

  • The Holy Spirit determines both the direction and the pace of your discipleship.
  • Staying in step means following His direction, not your impulses or someone else’s orders.
  • Consider: How would I describe my current pace with the Spirit?
  • □ Dragging Behind  □ Rushing Ahead  □ In Step

4. You Must Stay Humble (v. 26)

  • If I’m making spiritual progress, I’m unable to take the credit.
  • Comparison kills community because it prioritizes the self over the Spirit.
  • Consider: Can I celebrate the Spirit’s work, whether it’s in you or in me?
