Leaving All for More

February 15, 2026

Luke 5:1-11 – After a miraculous catch, Peter left everything to follow Jesus. You gain far more by leaving all for Him than you ever lose in letting go.

You will never leave all for Jesus and end up with less.

All We’ve Known (5:1-3)

  • Hearing God’s Word always comes before doing God’s work (5:1).
  • What feels like an interruption is often Jesus continuing what He started (5:2-3).
  • Ministry is meant to meddle in the mundane (5:3).

All We Think We Know (5:4-7)

  • Jesus is unimpressed by our experience or expertise (5:4).
  • Fixating on your limits blinds you to Christ’s power (5:5-6).
  • Obedience produces overflow that draws others into Christ’s work (5:7).

All We Must Let Go (5:8-11)

  • Encountering the holiness of Jesus exposes the sinfulness within us (5:8).
  • Grace doesn’t send us away; it invites us along (5:9-10).
  • You can’t hold onto old nets and step into new callings (5:11).

You haven’t taken a step forward if nothing has been left behind.
