Luke 9:23-27 – Jesus called His followers to take up their cross each day. Following Him is not a single decision but a continual death to self.
Die to Self (9:23)
- You cannot say yes to Jesus without saying no to yourself.
- A past decision is no substitute for ongoing discipleship.
Die to Gain (9:24-25)
- If gaining what you want costs you who you are, you’ve lost more than you’ve gained.
- The world promises life while slowly taking yours.
Die to Approval (9:26-27)
- If you won’t stand by His words, you’re not standing with Jesus.
- Don’t trade His future glory for their present approval.
