The Question You Must Answer

Luke 9:18-22 – Jesus asked His disciples who they believed He was. Your eternity depends on how you answer this most important question.

The question you must answer: Who is Jesus?

1. The Crowds Speculate (18-19)

• The crowds saw what Jesus could do but missed who He was.
• The masses will call Jesus a legend but not Lord.

2. The Disciple Confesses (20)

• Peter’s confession finally answered the question Jesus’ words and works had stirred: He is the Christ of God.
• No one else can confess Christ in your place.

3. The Christ Clarifies (21-22)

• Jesus revealed that the long-awaited Messiah would take the least-expected path.
• We must receive Jesus as the Christ He reveals Himself to be, not merely the Christ we hoped He would be.
