Count Your Blessings

To honor God, we need to always maintain a proper perspective.

You have been greatly blessed. While you may not be the richest person in the world, you have been showered with blessings. Let’s take some time to reflect on God’s provision in your life.

What are some of the financial blessings in your life?  What are some of the relational blessings in your life?  What are some of the spiritual blessings in your life?

While all of those blessings are very different, they all actually have the same origin. Read about it in 1 Corinthians 4:7.

For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?

Scripture teaches us here that we have a lot, and yet we have nothing that we did not receive. All of our blessings come from God. Even your paycheck which you work for is a gift from God that could be taken away at any moment.

Paul warns us not to boast as if we had not received those blessings. If we act like we have earned our blessings rather than receiving them, we try to take the glory away from God. We are robbing Him of the recognition He deserves.

You have a lot, but you have nothing that is not from God. Take some time to thank Him today for all of His blessings and make sure that you give Him credit in front of others for all of His gifts.
