Maybe you’ve seen the signs up around church about North Side University. We’ve a lot of questions, and I thought that I would give you a little heads up about this great upcoming option for our North Siders and their buds. If you have ever said, “I want to go a little deeper…I want to have a couple more tools under my belt…I feel like I want a better handle on some of the basics…” then North Side U. is for you.
For six weeks starting October 7th on Sunday nights @ 5:30, you will have the opportunity to take a class in North Side U. We began to think through what the most fundamental things Christians need to know and be able to do to keep up a steady growth. What we came up with is some classes we are going to offer three times a year (Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions). If you are in a C-Group, your group can opt to come to a class together or not come at all or split up. If you aren’t in a C-Group, you can come. If you don’t come to North Side, please come!
As of right now, the classes we are going to offer are:
- The doctrine of Salvation
- How to interpret and use the Bible
- How to listen and respond to the Holy Spirit
- How to effectively share their faith
- That God has uniquely designed them to serve
- The philosophy of the church
I will be teaching the “How to interpret and use the Bible,” which is called by a fancy word: hermeneutics. When I was in college, my hermeneutics class that I took changed my life more than any other class or activity I did over those years. For the first time in my life, I felt like I understood how to read the Bible and rightly apply it to my life. I can’t begin to tell how my life changed from that class.
The other classes are going to be incredible as well. I encourage you to stay tuned on how to sign up for one of these classes. By taking these classes, our prayer is that you begin to develop the tools you need to be consistently growing.
