When a church is establishing a strategic partnership in the area of mission or ministry, how do you pick ’em? With all the needs, how do you know which ones to get involved in? The second priority is:
Greatest Match
What is the greatest match with our church’s giftedness?
When ascertaining the greatest need, we must also determine what mission opportunities are the greatest match for the giftedness of our congregation. As each member is gifted by the Spirit for the common good (1 Cor. 12:7), God has appointed each person with differing gifts (1 Cor. 12:28). By reading the letters from Paul to the churches and Christ’s letters to the churches in Revelation, it is also evident that each congregation’s spiritual makeup is different than another congregation. We will not be limited to our church’s giftedness, but we will put a greater priority on engaging in the tasks that God has gifted our congregation to accomplish.
