Today at North Side, we worshipped to:
- Happy Day – Tim Hughes
- Everlasting God – Brenton Brown
- Make Me Holy – Travis Agnew
- We Fall Down (Tag) – Chris Tomlin
- Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) – Chris Tomlin
What a great day of worship and commitment at North Side as we concluded our series, “What Happens in Vegas.” Today’s big idea was “what happens in Vegas shouldn’t happen again.” We have a war being fought inside each of us.
What happens in Vegas shouldn’t happen again. While we have all messed up in areas of sin, we do not have to continue down those paths. As Christians, Jesus is calling us to sin no more. In Romans 6, Paul commands us to stop sinning. Our chains are gone, now we need to act like it.
Here’s how Christians are to be victorious over their sins:
- Remember who you are
- Get serious about your sin
- Get reasonable
I pray that today some of you truly decided to fight the sin that so easily entangles you. Don’t believe the lie that anything in this life is better than Jesus. Listen to the message here.
Next week, we start our series, “Marriage by the Book.” Make sure all singles and married people come to the first week entitled, “Don’t Marry the Wrong Person.” Remember to get your tickets for Date Night today.
Travis Agnew serves as the Lead Pastor of Rocky Creek Church in Greenville, SC. His most recent book is Just (About) Married.
