As our church focuses on prayer in the “Dear God” series, our pastor has four prayers for our church that he wants answered. The first prayer is: “Dear God, I want to please you.”
Too often, we come to God just to fix our problems. God wants to fix you, not your problem. In Colossians 1:10-12, Paul reveals four ways that we can please God regardless of our circumstances. In this message, Jeff shared how we can live a life that pleases God.
Today, we worshiped to:
- I Am Free – Jon Egan (North Side arrangement)
- Worship You – Travis Agnew
- Here I Am to Worship – Tim Hughes
Such a great day! I loved having Jordan up there with his niece to share about our brave soldiers all over the world. His sister and brother-in-law are serving now and need our prayers!
I’m so thankful to our band and tech team for working extra hard this week. Everybody made some major improvements behind the scenes that paid off big time today – thanks for your hard work – it was a special day!
Hope you liked the new tune, “Worship You.” Angela did a great job on it. And a special thank you to Jamie Strutton for his French Horn skills on the first tune (is it wrong that to celebrate the 4th of July we had a French Horn?). Appreciate everyone – you guys are amazing!

Travis Agnew serves as the Lead Pastor of Rocky Creek Church in Greenville, SC. His most recent book is Just (About) Married.

The reason it is called the French Horn in the English language is that the first horn players in England were French and the critics all wrote about the "French" horn players. That's how the name came about. in every other language it is simply called "horn." Probably just a random fact you will never use again, but now you
