What a pivotal day for North Side. It was one of those days where God was so clear to me in so many different areas, that it was hard to shake. Continuing on through Derailed, here is where we landed today:
Derailed by Idolatry (1 Corinthians 10-11). The Corinthian church had gotten into the habit of gathering together in the name of the Lord but making it all about themselves. They had become their own idols. In this message, we hear how this warning still applies to us today and what it means for the future of North Side.
The picture above shows holding a document entitled “The Glory of God.” As North Side has sought God’s leading on our future, we believe he has spoken to us concerning the future of worship styles at the church.
You can download the document from the City here. To get an explanation of the changes, you need to listen to the message here. As we have studied through Ephesians and now 1 Corinthians, it has blown me away at how God has been getting a word across to our congregation. It was humbling to be a part of today’s services and envision all that God can do through his church if we just yield to him!
Today, we worshiped to:
- My Savior Lives – New Life Worship
- Sing to the King – Billy and Cindy Foote
- Here I Am to Worship – Tim Hughes
- Worship You – North Side Worship
- Brethren, We Have Met to Worship – North Side Worship
Powerful time all across the board. Thankful that God could use a video we made last year to speak to us today. Amazing how he wove the worship together with the message (“with sweet manna all around”). Powerful to hear him speak. Make sure to get that document on the City and I will be posting some more details here in the days to come.
For today, I’m simply humbled to be a member (not to mention a staff member) of a church who is more concerned with making it about God rather than making it all about us. Humbled. Grateful. Expectant.
