The Love of Christ

Powerful day of worship.  It was great to begin celebrating Passion Week as a church family.  Jeff’s message was so true.  1 John 4 paints a picture of the love of Christ that is simply breathtaking.  He wanted to save us.  He loves us.  Christ loves people like me!

Today, we worshiped to:

  • Cross Medley #1 (Nothing But the Blood, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, The Old Rugged Cross)
  • Cross Medley #2 (How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, It Is Finished, Were You There, Are You Washed in the Blood, I Stand Amazed)

None of these songs are recorded like we did them today.  I had the first medley with a band and the second with me on piano and Leah on flute.  It was great to strip these songs down.  All musicians were way flexible to go with little guide to go by and just follow my lead.  It was really organic and different from service to service, and I really love that.

After services, part of our worship team loaded up to head to East Pickens Baptist Church for a special time of worship.  We led “Knowing Jesus” for this church and it was an incredible time of worship.  Once we got to the resurrection, I thought the roof was coming off that place!  Cannot wait to do it again in Greenwood this week!

The staff and church body at East Pickens were so gracious and so helpful as we prepared to lead worship.  There’s special stuff happening at that church and the genuine joy for Christ is felt when you are there.  It is a great congregation, and I am thankful to have been able to worship alongside them!
