A Reason for Our Hope

December has been such a special time at North Side.  So much energy and focus – I love it.

Each week we are doing some type of instrumental Christmas number to begin our time together.  Today, Gary Funderburk did a great version of “O Little Town of Bethlehem” on the saxophone.  We then did the wonderful song “Let There Be Light” that focuses on telling the great story of Jesus.

Michael George and his daughters did a great job welcoming our worshipers and giving them upcoming announcements.  Love seeing our families do life and ministry together.

We then went into a bluegrass section of “Go Tell It On the Mountain” and the new song “My Hope” that will be available on Jan. 26th with the “Stand Firm” project.

We concluded the music portion with a gorgeous song entitled “Winter Snow,” and then “In Christ Alone” when I felt like the roof was about to lift off from the building.  It wasn’t from the drums or the guitars, it was from the congregation singing their hearts out.  Our church loves singing out the gospel!

Jeff’s message on 1 Peter 3:13-17 was great.  We must set apart Christ as Lord of our hearts.  True conversion changes us completely.

Jesus is our great hope.
