The Wrath of God

Our focus for today was 2 Peter 2:4-10 and we talked about a “feel-good” topic of the wrath of God.

God is in opposition to everything that is in opposition to Him and His justice brings forth His wrath.

We got to begin our services with baptism today which is always a great way to start our services.  After that we sang “Victory in Jesus,” then we took it back to church by singing “Power in the Blood,” and then “O the Blood.”  Since we were focusing on the wrath of God today, we wanted to sing about the thing that could save us from that wrath – the blood!

After a great spoken word video about Jesus, we sang “Humble Yourselves” and “My Savior’s Love (I Stand Amazed).”  It was great to humble ourselves before him and be amazed at who Jesus is and what he has done.

Jeff’s message on the wrath of God was sobering.  It is easy to shy away from the topic not wanting to turn anyone off, but God’s wrath is a biblical topic that must be addressed on the regular.  The message was humbling to say the least.  The invitation time was special as we sang “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.”

Just a reminder that Connect is tonight for those who are wanting to learn more about North Side.  6pm in the Connect Room!
