2015 is here, and I have never been so excited about a season of ministry at North Side than I am right now!
We began our services by singing “Lay Me Down” and “Lord I Need You.” I loved hearing our church get after it on a rainy day. Such excitement and sincerity.
John McFadden gave some info about our senior adult ministry and some exciting stuff coming up for that wonderful group. Why I love our senior adults at North Side is because they have not retired from ministry! We also had some announcement videos regarding our NSU classes and DivorceCare groups.
We sang “Christ Be All Around Me” before the message.
Dick Williams, our new Discipleship Pastor, delivered a fantastic message on “Equipping the Saints for Ministry.” I loved hearing his heart for discipleship. It was genuine and he did a fantastic job of pointing to the truth of Scripture. Can’t wait to see all that God does through Dick’s ministry here at North Side.
Some of the best takeaways for me:
- God has called pastors into the ministry of equipping the saints to the ministry of their calling.
- We need to mature so that we will not be led astray.
- If I don’t speak the truth in love, I don’t value the unity and the purity of the Church.
After the message, John, Stacy, and Bear led us in a great rendition of John’s original song, “May Your Life Be.” The words were so perfect after the wonderful message!
Hope to see you tonight. I am beginning our two-week course on Cults. You can still join us in the chapel at 6 if you are interested. Even if you didn’t register, come on by yourself or with your group. If you register this afternoon, it will help us prepare materials, but come on either way!
