Missionary On-Ramps

We cannot stop taking the gospel until all have heard it. Any church strategy that does not have the nations as our goal is not a biblical one.

This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Matthew 24:14

The gospel is our message.

The world is our mission field.

The end is coming.

That’s why we must ensure that our efforts and activities count for what will last for eternity.

A church should seek to make a gospel presence known where Christ has not been named (Rom. 15:20).

Strategy

No one ever decides to live overseas until they have visited at least once. That’s why we must prioritize a reasonable on-ramp into missions. We desire to send out people from this congregation to live worldwide. To do so, we have to start by creating opportunities for shorter trips.

  • Short-Term Teams – We will encourage adults and high school students to take 1-2 week trips to our strategic partnerships.
  • Summer Missionaries – We will send college students for summer assignments with our missionaries. We can send placement teams with them to encourage the partners on the field and help situate the summer team.
  • Journeymen Commitments – We want to send college graduates to the field in places where they will be cared for well by missionaries on the ground. While we prefer to place them with our existing connections, we commit to going with them wherever they go.
  • Career Placements – We pray to send families from our church to live long-term among the nations. Once they are in place, we have natural places to send the previous three categories.
