Ecclesiastes 12:9-14 – Through the meaningless troubles of life, we can find a clear purpose in Solomon’s final lesson. The purpose of life comes into focus when we do the two simple things prescribed.
Listen
- We struggle to accept and follow the truth; that’s why repetition is necessary (12:9).
- We struggle to accept and follow the truth; that’s why repetition is necessary (12:9).
- Discovering truth should be a welcoming experience and not taken as an inconvenience (12:10).
- God’s truth gets us moving in the right direction alongside helpful companions (12:11).
- God’s truth makes something usable out of disconnected items (12:11).
- Every person will have one book to interpret all others (12:12).
- The two simple points of life are simple but not easy: fear God and keep His commands (12:13).
- Nothing we do goes unnoticed by God (12:14).
Consider
1. Are you reverent?
- Living solely for the approval of God means you are unconcerned with the expectations of others.
- You will see God one day; you best live aware that He sees you now.
2. Are you obedient?
- You haven’t proven that God’s Word is your guide until you are eager to obey it.
- Your success is determined by who you allow to guide and assist you.
