1 Kings 22:1-18 – Pastors feel pressure from many sides to preach what others want them to say. If you’re gonna speak, keep it to what the LORD wants them to hear.

Interpretation
- Plenty of people who sound spiritual aren’t actually Spirit-led (22:1-6).
- People will hate who you are if they can’t change what you preach (22:7-12).
- Pure preachers can’t be moved by political pressure or popular positions (22:13).
- This world needs men who will say whatever the LORD says and stay quiet on the rest (22:14).
- People want to hear from God as long as He agrees with them (22:15-16).
- The flock doesn’t know where to go if all the shepherds have wandered astray (22:17-18).
Application
- Don’t try to teach people about a God that you aren’t daily studying yourself.
- Rid yourself of soapbox-based talks vainly attaching a verse out of context to say what you want to say.
- Your church needs what God says more than what you think.
- We’ve lost the right to speak on behalf of God if we’ve been somebody’s puppet preacher.
- If you’re gonna speak, keep it to what the LORD wants them to hear.
