1 Peter 4:7-11 – None of us know when Jesus will return, but we know the time is approaching. As it draws near, discover the proactive priorities Christians should keep.
Live for what’s right with the time you have left.
Focused Prayer (4:7)
- “Be alert” – Prayer is rare because we fail to interpret our circumstances through spiritual lenses.
- “Be sober-minded” – If we are distracted by everything, we won’t pray about anything.
- Pray for God to do things today as if He’s coming back tomorrow.
Consistent Love (4:8-9)
- “Love covers” – To love inconsistent people consistently means you don’t keep unrealistic expectations.
- “Be hospitable” – Open your lives and your homes so that strangers become friends.
- You will never concern yourself with others’ eternity if you focus solely on your present comforts.
Intentional Service (4:10-11)
- “Received a gift” – God has uniquely gifted you to make a pivotal contribution to us.
- “Varied grace” – God never asked you to guilt others into completing the tasks He designed you to do.
- Prioritize the efforts in your life for causes that extend beyond our deaths.
