Intentional Relationships

father's dayWe got to celebrate fathers today at North Side in a fun way.  At the 11:15 Obie, Cory, Cory’s son, Nate, and me started the festivities with some Father’s Day Superlatives.  We couldn’t select any winners for the “Loudest Snoring Dad” award because there were too many people pointing fingers at the fathers in the house.  After our time of praying for our dads, the rest of the service happened.

The picture to the right is a Google search of “#1 Dad.”  I hope to look like him one day.

Today, we worshiped “unplugged” to:

  • Worthy of My Praise – Charlie Hall
  • Let Everything that has Breath – Matt Redman
  • Open the Eyes of My Heart – Paul Baloche
  • Hosanna – Hillsong United
  • You Said – Hillsong

Jeff’s message was on “Intentional Relationships.”  As we concluded in the series, Waiting on the World to Change, we discussed the need to develop “Intentional Relationships” for the sake of bringing other people close to Jesus.  There are so many people around us that need a relationship with God, and God is constantly opening doors for us.  But unless we are intentional about walking through those doors God opens, we will miss out on adding to the Kingdom.

Amanda and I have been talking a lot lately about this very thing.  The needs we see have been there for a while.  We see people we need to reach out.  The doors are flinging open.  But the need is for us to be intentional now.

Will you be intentional?
