Man Up

Scripture is full of servants who took a stand to confront evil. Look up these passages and learn from these examples.

When the prophet Nathan heard about King David’s adulterous relationship with Bathsheba, what did he do about it (2 Samuel 12:7-9)?  He confronted and rebuked the King.

When Nehemiah heard that God’s people were taking financial advantage of others, what did he do about it (Nehemiah 5:6-13)?  He challenged the most wealthy and powerful men head on.

What did John the Baptist do when he heard that King Herod had taken his brother’s wife? What did it cost him (Mark 6:17-18)?  Spoke out against the sin of the king and was killed because of it.

What did Jesus do when he encountered men who were corruptly making a profit in God’s house (Matt. 21:12-13)?  He turned over tables and drove them out with a whip!

What do all of these men have in common?

They manned up, took a stand, and did what was right no matter the cost.

Take a stand.  Confront evil.  Do what God has called you to do.
