God Isn’t Ignoring You

Many people wrongly assume that God is unaware concerning our situations.  Believing that he is too lofty and too out-of-touch with us down here on earth, some people will live in such a way that ignores God’s involvement in our lives.

They ignore God because they believe that God is ignoring them.

The Bible teaches us that God knows how many hairs are upon your head (Luke 12:7), he collects our tears in a bottle (Ps. 56:8), and he promises to supply all of our needs (Phil. 4:19).  God is not unaware.  He is fully aware and fully active in our lives whether we choose to acknowledge that fact or not.

Read Is. 64:8 and notice how aware and involved God is in your life.

Yet LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we all are the work of Your hands.  -Isaiah 64:8

God has created you and sustained you in a unique way.  God created you in secret (Ps. 139:15) and has written every one of your days down in a book (Ps. 139:16) before anyone else has had a chance to crack open the cover.

Thank God for how he has created you and how he has sustained you.  Take some time to praise him for how he fearfully and wonderfully made you (Ps. 139:14).

Not only is God aware of how he made you, but he is also aware of how to comfort you.  When he hears the cries of his children, he knows what to do (Ex. 2:25).  He knows when you need to be comforted and he knows how you need to be comforted.

Read 2 Cor. 1:3-4 and notice the activity of God:

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.  He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.  -2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Take some time and thank him for the comfort he provides.  Also, if you are in affliction currently, present your concerns before him and ask that he provides the type of comfort that only he can provide.
