Ministry Matters (Entrust Conference 2024)

In partnership with Rocky Creek, North Greenville University, and the Entrust Institute, we are excited to host our second annual Entrust Conference, “Ministry Matters: Learning to Help One Another.”

There is a great misconception today that you must improve your life before joining a church. Those of us on the inside know how far that is from the truth, and yet we can find ourselves slipping back into that mentality. We often feel pressure to appear as if we have it all together, but, truth be told, we don’t.

It’s okay not to be okay. For the newcomers to the long-term members, we want to create an environment where a local church can be a place of authentic community where we don’t fake it as if we have arrived at stable maturity.

It’s okay not to be okay, but it’s not okay to stay that way. That’s why the church is vitally important. In ministering to one another, we meet others’ needs and encourage personal growth. We know the depth of church hurt that so many carry, and the solution is not to abandon God’s design but instead to return to it. That’s why ministry matters.

This event will create tracks for people to customize their experience to gain practical content to help them minister in their unique contexts.

Speaker

At this year’s Entrust Conference, we are welcoming back Dr. Chuck Lawless to lead us in a weekend that seeks to restore what Jesus wants a local church to be. Chuck Lawless is Dean of Doctoral Studies and Vice-President of Spiritual Formation and Ministry Centers at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, where he also serves as Professor of Evangelism and Missions. In addition, he is the Team Leader for Theological Education Strategists for the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
