Psalm 119:17-32 – We live in an increasingly strange world with combative critics and challenging circumstances. God has given us the Bible as an uplifting gift to strengthen our souls when we’re weary.
Discover
- Prayerfully ask to behold God’s message within the Scriptures rather than what you want to see (119:17-18)
- The more this world drifts from God’s standards, the less we feel at home within it (119:19-20).
- Once you clarify your ultimate allegiance to the LORD, you don’t have to worry about what others say about you (119:21-23).
- Scripture’s counsel is the most delightful advice there is (119:24).
- There is life to be found in the Word when your life is spent from the world (119:25-28).
- Challenges entice us to stray from the unwavering standard of Scripture (119:29-32).
Decide
- Refuse to listen to the voice of your critics more than the Word of God.
- Avoid justifying a free pass to sin when you have a frustrating set of circumstances.
- Don’t accept weariness as normative when God’s Word is available.
Memory Verse
I am weary from grief; strengthen me through your word.
Psalm 119:28
