What a great Sunday. As our church continues to heal, it was great to come together today and sing words like, “You are my shield, my strength, my portion, deliverer, my shelter, strong tower, my very present help in times of need.” In times of need like we are going through, it is comforting to know that he is presently helping our situation!
Today, we sang:
- Forever – Chris Tomlin
- Awesome is the Lord Most High – Chris Tomlin
- God of this City – Bluetree
- Made Me Glad – Hillsong
- Asleep in the Light – Keith Green
The last song I sang at the end of the service was first written in the 1970s. Keith Green is one of my heroes. Unfortunately, due to the different musical style that Keith represented in that time, a lot of people don’t listen to his music. In college, I got hooked on him and sometimes I would listen to his songs and just weep over how far I was away from God. His music had a way of ushering me to want to give more to Jesus.

Jeff’s message was right on. When Esther’s people were in trouble, she was told maybe she had been placed in her position for “such a time as this.” In our trouble-filled world, we have been placed at this time at this place for a specific purpose. But are you still waiting on the world to change or will you decide to be a world changer for such a time as this?
The needs are out there. We could make a dent in the problems of this world. But will we do anything about it?
Get ready. North Side, in the weeks to come, you will hear how you can change the world.
